RAKETA COPERNIC USSR Vintage Mechanical Watch. In this lot have not been retouched.

The watch is in perfectly working order. The watch case is made of stainless steel.

Its mechanical hand-winding movement has got a caliber mark "2609 H? It is mechanical and needs to be wound once a day. The watch is used as seen on the images below but runs well and keeps time accurately. As it has been serviced (cleaned, lubricated and calibrated).

All parts tested for wear. Broken ones have been replaced with good parts. All parts washed up in gasoline. The movement was put whole, then lubricated and calibrated.

A new crystal was set up. Raketa watches have been produced since 1962, first in the Soviet Union, and now in Russia, at the Petrodvorets Watch Factory in St. Petersburg, the oldest factory in Russia.

It was founded by Peter I in 1721 as the Peterhof Lapidary Factory for the manufacture of carvings on hard stone. Raketa watches were produced for the Red Army, the USSR Navy, for expeditions to the North Pole, as well as for civilians. Watch size (lug-to-lug) is 42mm.

The lugs width is 18mm. Watch thickness is 11.7mm.
